What actually matters here
Indoors the specification matters less than the company, because the camera is pointing at your family.
Almost any current camera has enough resolution for a room. What differs is where the footage goes, who can reach it, and what happens when the maker has a bad week. Prefer local storage indoors even more firmly than outdoors, and prefer cameras with a physical privacy shutter or a documented way to disable the lens.
Pan and tilt is genuinely useful inside, where one camera can cover a whole room instead of a corner of it. The trade is a motor and a moving seal, which is one more thing to fail, and a camera that can be turned remotely is a camera that can be pointed somewhere you did not intend.
If the camera is for a child's room, think about it as a baby monitor with an internet connection rather than as a security product, and apply the stricter standard that implies. Local recording, a strong unique password, two-factor authentication on the account, and the camera off when the room is in use.
